TOP 3 Best Minimalist Desks
After we recently concluded our longest running review ever about the best office chair every made, it only makes sense to turn our sights to finding the best minimalist desk.
We have spent several weeks looking at hundreds and hundreds of desks. Then we came up with a shortlist of 10. And out of these 10 we picked our TOP 3. As a bonus we’ll also show you an extra crazy one – on both looks and price. So let’s get started.
Now that more and more people are working from home some of the time or totally remotely and never visit the office, the amount of people finding out that working from your coffee table isn’t the best way to spend your day. We’ve set our sights to more traditional desks, mostly in Scandinavian minimalistic style. There’s plenty on offer and the price ranges are quite wide as well. Starting from as low as $50 to more than $5000 if you really want to go out of your way.
As promised, let’s start with the crazy one. This is the Furtif Small Desk, created by the designer Daniel Rode. If the desk or the name Furtif seems a bit familiar then it’s probably one of these two reasons – Furtif also makes the crazily sexy-looking kitchen knives (and it’s not hard to see the similar design language). Or you’re a techie and have watched the popular tech-review Youtube channel MKBHD, who reviewed this desk a while back. Either way, it looks amazing, contrary to the name it’s not small at all, and I totally want it. But with a price tag of over $5000 I have to look at some more reasonable options for now.
All the selected 3 desks are from quite different price points – from very affordable to quite expensive (but nowhere near the Furtif’s price range).

Our budget pick – Zinus Modern Studio Collection Soho
The “Soho” is the best minimalist desk we found for the budget price range. For just under $70 it’s a real bargain. And it’s a big win considering that this was the most busy category. The Soho has a sturdy steel frame with rich wood grain finish and comes in 3 colors – brown, espresso and white. Brown being our favourite and also shown on the picture below.
It was also very easy to assemble – took us about 7 minutes, 5 of which I was looking for the screwdriver. There are also instructions, but let’s face it, you won’t be needing them. The dimensions of the table are 55”x24”x29”h. It also comes with a 1-year warranty, which is nice, but let’s face it – it’s a desk, what could happen?

Midrange – UrbanMod
In case you’re looking for an upgrade, this minimalist desk from UrbanMod’s product line is our next favourite. The biggest drawback with the Soho was the lack of storage. Even if you’re hardcore minimalist, you’re still bound to have a few things that would be nice to keep in a drawer and keep the desk surface clutter-free.
UrbanMod solves this problem with two concealed front panel drawers and a fold up flap to assist in organizing papers, books, envelopes and other important documents. This desk comes in a brown oak veneer, with a contrast white Matte Top. Top and base material is solid wood. Maybe jumping ahead of ourselves a bit, but we actually think this is the best minimalist desk. Period.
The dimensions are 55 x 23.5 x 29.5 inches and it weighs in at 79 pounds. Currently it’s unavailable on Amazon.
Top of the class – Office table by Next Level Studio
This unique table truly creates a rustic atmosphere and mood and adds to a great home office. They used old refurbished solid oak to prevent the destruction of the forest. Under the influence of natural factors wood achieved its unique structure. The table is treated with colored oil of German manufacturer Loba – Lobasol. This surface coating makes it wear-resistant, water-repellent and prevents from the dirt from getting ingrained into the wood. Also, they used liquid glass to stabilize the wood. This office table is the perfect combination of functionality, stability, and style in modern design. The table looks expensive, reliable and stylish due to its simple construction. It truly it gorgeous and once again I have to say that it definitely looks even better in real life than on paper. The only downside that I could find is the lack of drawers.
The measurements are (w/h/l) 27 x 30 x 60 inches.
Conclusion
So there it is, the definitive top of the best minimalist desk from all price ranges. We established that our favorite is the UrbanMod, hitting that exact sweet spot of good looks, functionality and reasonable price. (Currently unavailable.)
